Teknisk fagsamling 2016: Lyd i grenseland

[x_section style=»margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px; padding: 45px 0px 45px 0px; «][x_row inner_container=»true» marginless_columns=»false» bg_color=»» style=»margin: 0px auto 0px auto; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; «][x_column bg_color=»» type=»1/1″ style=»padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; «][x_text]På årets fagsamling for teknisk ansvarlig, som finner sted 3. og 4. februar på Byscenen i Trondheim, setter MUO fokus på hvordan vi kan jobbe for fornuftige lydnivåer.
For noen er dette en problemstilling som man har vært nødt til å forholde seg til en god stund, for andre er det ikke noen annet enn sin egen samvittighet, eller mangel på sådan, som har begrenset lydnivået. Lover og regler blir praktisert helt forskjellig etter hvor i landet man bor, eller hvor glad i musikk naboen er. Det er vel bare spørsmål om tid før lovene blir satt i et litt bedre system, og man vil få en slags felles nasjonal grense som man må overholde. Dette skal forberede oss på.
Hvordan skal man gjøre en riktig måling? Hvordan skal man forholde seg til naboer som blir plaget av konsertene våre? Hvordan lager jeg en fin miks på et lavere lydnivå enn jeg gjorde tidligere? Hvordan påvirker musikk hørselen min over lengre tid? Hva har man gjort i nabolandene våre og hvordan fungerer det der? Dette og veldig mye annet skal vi lære mere om.
I år har vi hentet inn ekspertise fra Norge, Nederland og USA. [/x_text][x_text]Program:

He was a partner in Jands through the ’70s and ’80s before joining rental giant, Showco. He has mixed sound for global superstars such as Van Halen, Sade, Bee Gees and more recently Sting. Howard is currently Senior Director of Engineering at Clair Bros where he’s also chief troubleshooter, rescuing tours that have gone off the sonic rails.
Howard Page is known for making rich and full mixes on a dB-level that`s comfortable for the audience. The key is how he builds his shows dynamicly. He will give us a long lecture with a lot of Tips & Tricks about everything from gain-structure to his philosophy on PA-tuning. For more information[/x_accordion_item][x_accordion_item title=»Marcel Kok » open=»false»]In 2 sessions Marcel Kok (owner of dBcontrol) will present the history and future of sound level control. dBcontrol was founded in 2001 and has done a lot of events in the Netherlands and Belgium. The main activity is sound level measurements and control, followed by research on decibels. Nowdays the focus is on large outdoor dance events. The presentation on Wednesday will deal with the history of sound level control, mostly from environmental perspective. The main issue in decibel measurements & control is always the communication between all stakeholders at an event. Various pictures and short movies will be presented. On Thursday the presentation will deal with decibel limits for the ears of the audience. Marcel has followed the sessions for a decibel law in Belgium (2010-2013) and is a member of the working group for the decibel covenant in the Netherlands (2010-present). Details of the process to make a new limit will be shown. All those experiences (and sometimes failures!) can be used to predict the situation in Norway with an upcoming decibel limit. The secrets behind the 102 dB(A)@15min. We will take a brief look at Marcel Kok`s Ph.D research topic in the end oft he lecture.
Marcel Kok is living in the Netherlands and is owner and co-founder of dBcontrol. This small company was founded in 2001 by 2 persons who felt that there was a need for more detailed decibel measurements and decibel communication at live events. Marcel has studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Twente, Netherlands and has done a MBA study. Work experience is in the field of acoustic consultancy, first at a consultancy firm in Amsterdam and later in a small city (Lelystad). Sound engineering has been his hobby since 1982. As a freelance FOH engineer he has seen many small venues in the Benelux and in Europe. Besides dBcontrol, Marcel is a Ph.D. student at Ghent University in Belgium since 2014. Topic for his research is the use of the dB(C) as an indicator for the low frequency annoyance at large outdoor dance festivals.

Han har en bachelor i audiologi (medisinsk og tekniske hjelpemidler, høreapparat og lignende), og en master i Klinisk Helsevitenskap. Han har i tillegg drevet med musikk i alle år og kom inn i fagfeltet etter en turné hvor han fikk tinnitus. Han sitter i styret til Norsk Audiografforbund og jobber mye opp mot Stortinget for å øke kunnskapen om utfordringer innen hørselsproblematikk. Erik driver også med forskning innenfor rockemusikkere og hørselskader.
